Why Not A Cruise For Your Next Firm Retreat?

By Christopher Bragoni

Using a cruise ship as a destination for a Law Firm Retreat offer many benefits and exciting opportunities. Cruise ships are perceived as being very costly but in fact for Meetings, cruising is, in most cases, less expensive than meeting in a hotel. Cruise ships have become increasingly popular for Meetings and Retreats.

As a result, the cruise lines are designing ships with dedicated conference and meeting facilities similar to those found in hotels. Many even feature business-related services such as Internet access, multimedia capabilities, etc. In addition, older vessels are undergoing renovations to accommodate the requirements of corporate clientele. Here are some of the reasons cruise ships have become popular choices for Law Firm Retreats:

It’s A Truly Rewarding Experience!

  • Twice-daily cabin service and nightly turndown service.
  • 24-hour (complimentary) room service.
  • Visits to multiple ports-of-call.
  • High-quality, professional entertainment that changes nightly.
  • Cruising has a high perceived value.
  • You have a captive audience —and the opportunity to include as many, or as few, group events as you’d like.

It’s All-Inclusive, therefore Cost-Effective!

  • All meals are included — at least two choices of restaurants for breakfast and lunch, plus a five-course dinner ordered from a menu that changes nightly. Also included are snacks, afternoon tea, late-night buffets, and in most cases, 24-hour room service.

  • Most meeting “extras” are included - AV, coffee breaks, continental breakfasts, use of the meeting room or show lounges, special lighting when you need the use of a stage, etc.

  • Reasonably priced food and beverage for receptions when compared to hotels. Because cruise lines are purchasing food and beverage in huge quantities (and duty-free in the case of alcohol), they are able to pass savings on to you

  • Complimentary use of the health and fitness center (which usually costs between $12 and $25 at a hotel).

  • Available spouse programs like educational lectures, cooking demonstrations, historical narratives, games, activities, etc.
